Human Resources Manager

About the role

Home & Things is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function and partner closely with management and staff. The role requires a highly organized, people‑oriented professional who can handle employee matters confidentially and strategically.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment processes including sourcing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding.
• Handle staff issues such as disciplinary actions, performance assessments, conflict resolution and related matters.
• Maintain employee records, contracts, attendance, leave and other HR documentation in line with company standards.
• Implement, enforce and update company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate staff training, development and performance assessment processes.
• Prepare monthly HR reports for Accounts and other departments.
• Develop and execute initiatives to boost employee morale, engagement and company culture.
• Ensure compliance with Jamaican labour laws and recommend improvements to HR practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of managerial or senior HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of Jamaican labour laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning and organizational skills.
• High level of confidentiality, problem‑solving ability and initiative.
• Retail industry experience is an asset.
