Retirement Living Assistant – Support Sheltered Housing

About the role

This position supports the efficient running of sheltered housing schemes across the High Peak Retirement Living Complexes. You will work alongside Retirement Living Officers to ensure the safety, wellbeing and social engagement of residents.

Key responsibilities

• Support Retirement Living Officers in the day‑to‑day operation of six sheltered housing blocks.
• Promote safety and wellbeing of tenants, responding to emergencies when required.
• Provide social interaction and companionship during scheduled shifts.
• Assist with administrative duties such as attendance records and incident reporting.
• Help maintain a welcoming and secure environment for all residents.

Required profile

• Kind, caring, compassionate and enthusiastic.
• Good listener with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.
• Flexible and positive “can‑do” attitude.

Required skills

• Valid full driving licence.
• Successful enhanced DBS clearance.
