Senior Assurance Manager - JM

About the role

EY Jamaica is seeking a qualified candidate for an Assurance Senior Manager position within its External Audit team. The role involves helping clients meet their reporting requirements through an objective, independent examination of financial statements, constructive discussions with management on accounting and reporting matters, and clear advice to audit committees. Selected candidates will work on various audit engagements across the Caribbean region.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with key business decision makers and engagement team contacts to support service delivery.
• Provide guidance, expertise and oversight of audit procedures, especially on complex and specialized issues.
• Collaborate with engagement teams to plan objectives and develop audit strategies that address risk, and embed EY's Risk Management procedures in engagement work.
• Manage engagement workflows, including resource allocation, budget oversight and progress monitoring, and lead engagement teams to deliver on time, within budget and according to EY methodology.
• Coach and develop Assistant Managers, Seniors and Staff, and contribute to technical and professional skills training.
• Identify opportunities to standardize and optimize assurance processes across a client portfolio and generate new business opportunities.
• Communicate trends and developments affecting clients and maintain long-term internal and external professional networks.

Required profile

• A qualified chartered accountant (ACCA or CPA) with at least 8 years of working experience.
• Experience as a senior auditor at a public accounting firm, or particular business/industry experience, is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of International accounting and auditing standards (IFRS or UK GAAP).
