Technical Analyst - IT Department

About the role

itel is hiring a Technical Analyst for its IT Department in Kingston. The role supports staff in the Corporate Office and remote locations with technical support for desktop computers, applications and related technology, covering specifications, installation, maintenance and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established guidelines. It also involves assisting with the maintenance and testing of servers and associated network equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist staff with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software.
• Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
• Ensure desktop computers connect seamlessly with validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems.
• Work with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software, assessing functional needs to determine specifications.
• Help staff resolve issues with computer hardware or software components.
• Meet with clients to discuss technical requirements, system functionality and provide required reports.

Required profile

• 1-2 years' experience supporting Windows 7, 8 or 10 desktop and laptop PCs.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on desktops, laptops, hard phones, printers and other peripherals.
• Experience installing software, patches and updates on desktops, laptops and servers.
• Experience troubleshooting basic network, software and printing issues.
• Excellent customer service.

The incumbent must be prepared to work extended hours when needed to complete assigned tasks and to visit the office during system failures or urgent situations.
