Trade Finance Associate – Investment Banking

About the role

Santander's Global Transaction Banking division is seeking a Trade Finance Associate to support its Investment Banking franchise in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid. You will work closely with Corporate & Investment Banking teams on trade finance solutions linked to M&A, project finance and private equity transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior team members in marketing, structuring and executing trade finance transactions for corporate clients.
• Gradually take ownership of transaction execution and lead deals as experience grows.
• Monitor the pipeline, track income generation and capital consumption across the division.
• Provide market updates, pricing intelligence and relevant event analysis to inform decision‑making.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of professional experience in finance, preferably within trade finance or investment banking.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to see the big picture and work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with clients and internal stakeholders.
