Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will support the finance team by reconciling balance‑sheet accounts, preparing journal entries and assisting with the company’s tax portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Review coding of all journal entries and tax payable documents for completeness.
• Ensure documents are approved in line with the Manual of Authorities and company policies.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and send relevant reports to aviation terminals on time.
• Assist with GCT, Withholding Tax and Property Tax calculations and record payables in the ERP system.
• Assist with monthly CIT & DIT calculations and record the associated journal entries.
• Support timely filing and payment of annual tax returns and estimated income tax.
• Prepare account reconciliations and monthly non‑trade reports as assigned.
• Prepare debit and credit memos for AR transactions.
• Provide accounting assistance to the finance team and external auditors as required.
• Help resolve discrepancies and outstanding issues on assigned accounts.
• Assist the accountant with month‑end close, special projects and any ad‑hoc tasks.
• Record work‑related injuries, illnesses, hazards and other incidents and support HSE compliance.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Or foundation level of a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CGA, AAT) with 3 years of experience.
• Demonstrates the company’s values and professional behaviour.
