Head of Finance – Insurance & Investments

About the role

The Head of Finance will shape and execute the financial strategy for our insurance and investment businesses. Reporting directly to the CEO and Board, you will provide strategic guidance, ensure robust financial controls, and drive performance across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning for both insurance and investment units.
• Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor investment portfolios, asset allocation, liquidity and performance, and evaluate new investment opportunities.
• Manage insurance financials including premiums, claims, reserves, commissions and profitability analysis.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support business expansion and product development.
• Ensure capital adequacy, solvency, liquidity and overall risk management.
• Maintain compliance with insurance, investment, tax, accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors, regulators, banks, investment managers and external advisors.
• Establish strong financial controls, governance frameworks and risk‑management processes.
• Provide actionable performance analysis and recommendations to senior management.
• Lead, develop and manage the finance and accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CMA, CFA or equivalent preferred.
• 8+ years of finance experience with significant exposure to insurance, investments, asset management, banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of insurance accounting, investment management, financial reporting, risk and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience managing investment portfolios and evaluating opportunities.
• Excellent analytical, forecasting and strategic decision‑making abilities.
• Experience interacting with senior executives, Boards, regulators, auditors and institutional stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
