Asian Chef – Montego Bay, Jamaica

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Asian Chef to lead our kitchen in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The role is full‑time and on‑site, focusing on authentic Asian cuisine for both local guests and tourists.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of authentic Asian dishes, maintaining consistent taste and presentation.
• Design and refine menus, incorporating regional Asian cuisines such as Thai, Chinese, and Japanese.
• Manage daily kitchen operations, coordinate staff, and ensure efficient workflow.
• Monitor inventory, order supplies, and control food costs.
• Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and food‑safety regulations.
• Collaborate with management on special events, promotions, and new culinary concepts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a professional kitchen, preferably hotel, resort or high‑volume restaurant.
• Strong proficiency in Asian culinary techniques across multiple regional cuisines.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and ability to enforce them.
• Experience supervising and training kitchen staff and fostering teamwork.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays in a hospitality setting.
• Formal culinary training or certification is an asset; international experience in Caribbean or resort environments is beneficial.
