Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance team by reconciling balance‑sheet accounts, preparing journal entries and assisting with the company’s tax portfolio. This role reports to the Accountant and contributes to timely month‑end close and compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Review coding of journal entries and tax payable documents for completeness and compliance.
• Prepare and submit monthly journal entries and related reports to aviation terminals.
• Assist with GCT, withholding tax, property tax, CIT and DIT calculations and record the corresponding entries in the ERP system.
• Support the preparation and filing of annual tax returns and estimated income tax payments.
• Ensure compliance matters are addressed, including renewal of TCC when required.
• Perform account reconciliations, prepare non‑trade reports and debit/credit memos for AR transactions.
• Provide accounting assistance to the Finance team and external auditors, and help resolve discrepancies.
• Assist the Accountant with month‑end close, special projects and health‑safety incident recording.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a foundation level accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CGA, AAT) with 3 years of experience.
• Strong understanding of journal entry preparation, tax calculations and compliance procedures.
• Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines and support month‑end close activities.
