About the role

The Inter-American Development Bank (Grupo BID) is seeking a dynamic consultant to support the effectiveness of development and operations management across its project portfolio. The role will work within the Institutional Capacity Division, helping to improve design, execution, and closure of operations in line with the Bank's effectiveness frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Review and strengthen project documents, including Project Design Documents (PDDs) and technical cooperation agreements.
• Enhance theories of change, results matrices, and indicators to ensure logical intervention design and outcome measurement.
• Contribute to the evaluability of operations and alignment with institutional effectiveness standards.
• Participate in quality review and corporate approval processes, including SPD and OVE reviews.
• Provide technical support to project teams during design, review, and approval stages.
• Support monitoring of ongoing operations, preparing and reviewing Progress Monitoring Reports (PMRs).
• Identify risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities, proposing adjustments to strengthen performance.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing Project Completion Reports (PCRs) and in result analysis.
• Systematize evidence, results, and lessons learned to enhance knowledge management.
• Facilitate coordination between operational teams and corporate units.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in economics, public policy, statistics, or related fields.
• At least five years of progressive experience in projects funded by multilateral organizations or the public sector.
• Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken; additional knowledge of French or Portuguese is preferred.
• Citizenship of one of the Bank’s 48 member countries and eligibility to work for the institution.
