Associate Accountant

About the role

The Associate Accountant supports the Manager of Financial Accounting and the Local Finance Business Unit in maintaining Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) controls while assisting the finance department with timely reporting and control across Jamaica business units.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for all Jamaica business units during month‑end closing.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Analyze financial information and perform general‑ledger reconciliations, following up on outstanding items with stakeholders.
• Participate in quarterly and annual stock counts.
• Support external and internal audits for group and statutory reporting.
• Maintain and improve internal SOX controls and recommend process improvements.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to other finance areas as needed.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• SAP experience is a plus.
