Assistant Bursar (EIGS/BR 2)

About the role

Trench Town Polytechnic College (TTPC), Jamaica's first polytechnic institution of higher education, is hiring a full-time, on-site Assistant Bursar (EIGS/BR 2) in Kingston. The role supports the bursary in managing day-to-day financial operations, working closely with college leadership, academic units and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial operations, including processing payments and receivables and keeping accurate financial records
• Assist with budgeting, monitoring expenditures and preparing financial reports
• Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory financial policies
• Coordinate student billing, tuition and fee collection, and support student financial aid processes with relevant departments

Required profile

• Experience managing institutional or organizational financial transactions
• Experience in budgeting, expenditure monitoring and preparing financial statements or reports
• Knowledge of student financial aid processes, including tuition billing, payment plans and related policies
• BSc in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field preferred
• Strong attention to detail, integrity and confidentiality of financial and student records
• Effective communication and teamwork with students, staff and external stakeholders

Required skills

• Analytical skills, including interpreting financial data and supporting budgeting and forecasting
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
