Assurance Manager - JM

About the role

EY Jamaica is seeking an Assurance Manager to join its External Audit team. You will help clients meet their reporting requirements through an objective, independent examination of their financial statements, constructive discussions with management on accounting and reporting matters, and a clear perspective to audit committees. Selected candidates will work on various audit engagements across the Caribbean region, regardless of their home location.

Key responsibilities

• Perform audit procedures, especially on complex and/or specialized issues
• Help plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and addresses risk
• Understand the client's industry, its performance drivers and trends, and maintain productive relationships with client management
• Identify opportunities to standardize and optimize assurance processes across a portfolio of clients
• Monitor the engagement team's progress against the plan and adjust it when needed
• Delegate work effectively and lead a team of Seniors and Associates to deliver high-quality work on time, within budget and according to EY methodology
• Run timely performance reviews, give feedback and provide training
• Use technology to learn, share knowledge and improve service delivery
• Generate new business opportunities, stay informed on economic developments and build long-term internal and external networks

Required profile

• Qualified chartered accountant (ACCA or CPA) with approximately 5-6 years of working experience
• Experience as a senior auditor at a public accounting firm, or particular business/industry experience, is an asset
• Knowledge of IFRS or UK GAAP
