Consultant – Start-up & Convening Support for Agrifood Finance (Jamaica)

About the role

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is seeking a Jamaica‑based consultant to provide start‑up and convening support for a technical cooperation on agrifood finance. The role focuses on coordinating initial meetings and workshops, handling logistics, and maintaining operational trackers during the opening months of the project.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and manage logistics for start‑up meetings, workshops and coordination sessions with ministries, national banks and sector partners.
• Prepare meeting materials, agendas and ensure participants have required documentation.
• Capture minutes, key decisions and action items, and distribute summaries to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain up‑to‑date trackers for deliverables, milestones and budget expenditures.
• Support day‑to‑day monitoring of the project’s budget and reporting requirements.
• Liaise with the Agriculture and Rural Development Division and other IDB units to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project coordination, event logistics or similar support functions.
• Familiarity with agrifood or public‑finance environments is advantageous.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with government agencies, financial institutions and development partners.
• Fluent English; knowledge of local context in Jamaica preferred.
