General Insurance Advisor – Customer Sales & Service

About the role

The General Insurance Advisor will drive direct sales of insurance products, manage referrals from Bank Sales Officers, and provide end‑to‑end customer service throughout the policy lifecycle at Scotia General Insurance Agency in Jamaica.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new business and fulfill referral quotes from Bank Sales Officers.
• Guide customers through product details, disclosures, and KYC requirements.
• Ensure underwriting guidelines are met and manage policy renewals and changes.
• Provide post‑sale support, claims assistance, and retention negotiations.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, AML/ATF, and internal policies.
• Champion a customer‑focused culture and contribute to an inclusive, high‑performance environment.

Required profile

• College‑level degree.
• Sales license from the Financial Services Commission (FSC).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar insurance sales role.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent customer service orientation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
