Loan Securities Officer

About the role

The Loan Securities Officer will join Sagicor Bank Jamaica’s Centralized Collateral & Securities Team. The role focuses on reviewing credit packages, conducting due‑diligence on guarantees and securities, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards before loan disbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Review credit packages for compliance with credit policies, procedures and regulatory practices.
• Conduct due‑diligence on corporate guarantees, bonds and letters of undertaking.
• Refer defective credit packages to the appropriate lender/branch/unit for resolution.
• Authorize collateral entries in the T24 system and verify collateral files against logged information.
• Review and verify movable collaterals recorded in NSIPP.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and management reports.
• Exercise custodial responsibility for keys and combinations, maintaining custody records.
• Monitor and reconcile all incoming deposits to the settlement account.
• Reconcile the collateral & securities settlement account.
• Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Management Studies or a related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Minimum three (3) years of banking experience, with at least two (2) years in a credit/loan environment.
• Strong knowledge of the bank’s policies, procedures and regulatory reporting requirements.
• High degree of accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a customer‑ and team‑oriented environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
