Manager, Financial Reporting

About the role

The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for ensuring accurate transaction recording, supervising the finance team, and delivering timely financial reports to internal and external stakeholders. This role supports both internal analysis and external regulatory reporting for designated business units.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and reconcile general ledger accounts, review journal entries, and manage intercompany billings.
• Prepare and direct monthly and quarterly financial statements for the Board, Jamaica Stock Exchange, senior management, and head office.
• Approve journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and oversee bank reconciliations and suspense account analysis.
• Review sub‑ledger reconciliations for investments, repurchase agreements, loans, and equity.
• Ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory reports to the Financial Services Commission and the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
• Post accounts payable invoices and support internal and external audits.
• Assist with the annual budgeting process and ensure filing and payment of all tax returns.
• Communicate operational issues and key metrics to internal stakeholders and recommend process improvements.
• Coach, mentor, and evaluate finance staff.

Required profile

• BSc in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting, ACCA/CPA or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in senior financial management within banking or financial services.
• In‑depth knowledge of financial reporting systems and regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience using computerized accounting packages.
• Strong ability to analyse and interpret financial reports.
