Operations Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, analytical Operations Consultant to support the design, execution, monitoring and closure of IDB Group operations in Jamaica. Working within the Country Office Jamaica’s Operations Unit, you will collaborate with sector and fiduciary specialists to ensure projects align with IDB strategy and national development priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Support loan and technical operations using IDB tools and policies to ensure alignment with the Country Strategy.
• Analyze and present evidence of sectoral impact from IDB‑financed operations, leveraging institutional data.
• Contribute to drafting project profiles and operational plans for technical cooperation initiatives.
• Coordinate project start‑up workshops, recommend training, and apply predictive monitoring techniques to track activities, processes and procurements.
• Identify risks to operational goals, alert the Team Leader and Chief of Operations, and support preparation of Project Completion Reports.
• Obtain and maintain relevant IDB certifications, facilitate workshops and capacity evaluations for executing units.
• Liaise with internal units to review terms of reference, procurement documents and contracts for compliance with Bank policies.
• Conduct periodic evaluations and follow up on recommendations from the Office of Evaluation and Oversight.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Economics, Management, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in project management, business analytics or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in English.
• Citizenship of an IDB member country and eligibility to work in Jamaica without sponsorship.
• No family members up to fourth degree of consanguinity or second degree of affinity employed by IDB, IDB Invest or IDB Lab.
