Team Lead – Centralized Receipting

About the role

The Team Lead – Centralized Receipting will oversee daily cash handling, receipt processing and payment operations for Sagicor Life Jamaica’s revenue and payment unit. Reporting to the Supervisor – Centralized Receipting, the role ensures accurate cash‑flow recording, bank lodgements and compliance with insurance regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Check‑off cashiers, sign counter collection forms and authorize daily lodgements.
• Prepare cash, cheques and related documents for bank submission and lock cash pans in the safe.
• Collect over‑the‑counter and electronic payments for insurance policies, mortgages, pensions and other services.
• Update client records with received payments and investigate any anomalies.
• Process mailed cheques, including foreign‑currency payments, and prepare batch reports for verification.
• Assist in training staff on relevant computer applications and job functions.
• Report any daily shortages or overages to the supervisor and support other ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting or a related field.
• LOMA I and II designations.
• Minimum three years of experience in finance or accounts, with at least one year in a supervisory role, preferably within a life or health insurance operation.
• Strong organisational, leadership and analytical skills.
• High level of integrity and excellent written and oral communication.
• Knowledge of insurance business laws, regulations and financial accounting standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard computer software packages (e.g., spreadsheet and word‑processing applications).
• Ability to use business data‑entry tools.
