Accounts Payables Associate

About the role

Sutherland, a global provider of business process and technology management services, is hiring a full-time Accounts Payables Associate in Mandeville, Jamaica. The role reviews invoices and disbursements for scholarship programs and supports the Purchase Assistance Request Program so that requests are processed in a timely way.

Key responsibilities

• Review invoices and disbursements to determine the level of approval needed and whether payment can be granted under the statute provisions.
• Ensure proper documentation accompanies each invoice or disbursement for audit purposes.
• Check for duplicate invoices in the internal processing system and research them to confirm they were not previously entered.
• Maintain knowledge of the program and adapt to changes in company policy.
• Process Tier 1 Reimbursements (Instructional Material and Part-time Tutoring) and review peer reimbursements for accuracy.

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 CXC/GCE subjects including English Language and a numeric subject (Mathematics or Principles of Accounts).
• Understanding of Accounts Payables.
• Valid government-issued ID, TRN and NIS card.
• Flexible availability to work any day and any assigned shift, including weekends and public holidays.
• Able to train and/or work onsite, and able to pass a criminal background check and drug test as needed.

Required skills

• Typing speed of at least 35 wpm with 80% accuracy.
• Multi-tasking and prioritisation, including using several applications at once; experience with CRM applications preferred.
• Good systematic problem solving, attention to detail and integrity.
