Client Relations Officer (Small Business Loans)

About the role

JN Small Business Loans Limited, part of The Jamaica National Group Limited, is recruiting a Client Relations Officer (Reserve) for its Black River location (Region 9). This is a clerical, fixed-term contract of two years. The officer markets the company's products, identifies prospects, sells loan products to new and existing customers and services their portfolio, helping clients understand their financial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Promote products and take part in community activities to attract new customers and identify qualified prospects.
• Qualify prospects by reliability, honesty, ability to pay and available collateral, then initiate contact and match the right loan product.
• Prepare and submit qualified loan applications for approval, and advise customers on approved loans, fund access and terms and conditions.
• Counsel customers on business practices and cash management to ensure proper use of loan funds and consistent repayment.
• Maintain customer contact, handle complaints and monitor payment and business performance.
• Monitor the loan portfolio for risks and trends, plan and execute corrective actions, and report early risks as required.
• Provide guidance on business and cash flow issues, prepare reports and respond to team queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting or another relevant field.
• At least two years of experience selling and servicing small business credit.
• Customer service orientation, strong relationship-building and sales skills, and excellent communication.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment.

Required skills

• High proficiency with computer systems, especially the MS Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel).
