Pastry Cook

About the role

Couples Resorts is hiring a Pastry Cook for a full-time, on-site position in Negril, Jamaica. The Pastry Cook prepares, bakes and decorates pastries, desserts and baked goods according to resort recipes and presentation standards, working closely with the culinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Measure and mix ingredients, operate bakery equipment and monitor oven temperatures and baking times
• Ensure consistent quality and portion control
• Support buffet, à la carte, special event and private function menus
• Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards
• Organize workstations and manage inventory of baking supplies
• Assist with new dessert concepts that enhance the guest experience

Required profile

• Previous experience in a hotel, resort or professional bakery is preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings and holidays
• Strong teamwork, communication and time-management skills in a fast-paced kitchen
• Formal culinary or pastry training is an asset but not mandatory; a passion for pastry and continuous learning is highly valued
