Bank Teller – Portmore

About the role

Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a dedicated Teller to join its Branch Operations team in Portmore. The role involves providing professional, attentive service to clients while accurately handling core banking transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Process immediate core banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, RTGS/Wire transfers, ACH, and foreign exchange.
• Verify and process client deposits from the Main Line and Quick Deposit Box, and handle non‑cash transactions such as fund transfers and fee reversals.
• Issue and encash drafts, manager’s cheques, travellers’ cheques, and process credit‑card and bill payments.
• Maintain vault and treasury duties, including cash preparation for shipment, excess cash collection, and cash reconciliation.
• Cross‑sell bank products and services, refer clients to appropriate sales channels, and actively market the bank’s offerings.
• Image, scan, and file processed documents, balance and clear cheque clearing/suspense accounts, and dispatch items to verification units.
• Ensure compliance with TTR/STR/UTR reporting requirements and assist in the verification of negotiable instruments.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Knowledge of teller functions and POCA regulations is an advantage.
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong time‑management skills.
• Professionalism, integrity, and effective communication when dealing with clients and team members.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheet and word‑processing software applications.
