Risk Officer

About the role

The Risk Officer will support the Assistant Manager and Assistant Vice President in the Group Pricing and Risk Assessment Department of a leading financial services company. This role focuses on pricing, quotation preparation, and reporting for employee benefits products.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Assistant Manager and AVP in supporting the Employee Benefits Marketing Department.
• Prepare new business quotations for Group Health, Group Life, Critical Illness and Personal Accident products for both small and large groups.
• Prepare renewal pricing quotations for the same product lines.
• Complete monthly and quarterly performance reports.
• Conduct new business quotes for Costa Rica.
• Assist with medical underwriting of applications for employer and non‑employer groups.
• Assist with rate entry on the GIAS system.
• Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics from a recognized tertiary institution.
• At least one year of experience in insurance or insurance pricing (considered an asset).
• Sound knowledge of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent mathematical, research, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of general and technical operations of a life insurance company, especially employee benefits.
• Good organizing, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Detail‑oriented.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
