SME Business Banker – Montego Bay

About the role

The SME Business Banker will join Sagicor Bank Jamaica’s SME Business Banking team in Montego Bay. The role focuses on acquiring and managing small and medium‑sized enterprise clients, driving growth in liabilities, accounts and credit applications while maintaining strong risk controls.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new SME clients, meeting targets for account growth and credit applications.
• Advise prospects on the bank’s product suite, including credit offerings, and negotiate terms.
• Build a commercial profile within the local business community and generate revenue through cross‑selling.
• Monitor existing loan portfolios to prevent delinquency and take remedial action when needed.
• Review daily overdraft reports to ensure limits are respected and approved.
• Maintain and grow existing customer relationships, handling referrals and new business development.
• Prepare credit applications with financial analysis, recommending terms, pricing and covenants.
• Facilitate smooth account opening processes for new SME clients.
• Present banking solutions to prospective client groups and resolve client issues, escalating when appropriate.

Required profile

• First degree in Management Studies, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Minimum of one year experience in a business banking environment.
• Proven ability to engage clients proactively and reactively.
• Strong public speaking, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professionalism, ethical standards and high enthusiasm.
