Accounting Officer – Real Estate Accounting (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an Accounting Officer to support real‑estate accounting functions within Sagicor’s Group Corporate Accounting team. The role will assist the Assistant Manager in preparing, analysing and reporting financial information for Sagicor Property Services Ltd and related entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update supporting schedules for financial statement preparation.
• Create accounting entries and post them to the general ledger.
• Assist in managing accounting for Sagicor Property Services Ltd, including budgeting, variance analysis and cost‑benefit studies.
• Compile regulatory filings and coordinate the annual audit for the property services unit.
• Produce monthly investment reports and quarterly reporting packages for the real‑estate portfolio.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or ACCA equivalent).
• Minimum three years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with high motivation and organisational ability.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel).
• Proficiency with word‑processing applications (e.g., Word).
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Familiarity with the Companies Act and related regulatory requirements.
• Experience using computerized accounting systems.
