Disbursement Project Assistant – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

The Disbursement Project Assistant will support the Client Engagement and Communications team by monitoring and processing outstanding disbursements for Sagicor Life Jamaica. This six‑month contract position ensures timely and accurate fund movements while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor outstanding disbursement reports and clear balances according to procedural guidelines.
• Communicate with advisors, branch managers, and clients via email to provide status updates.
• Apply payments to the correct policy numbers or transfer to write‑off accounts.
• Assist internal and external client requests to move money between policies and execute necessary disbursements.
• Prepare journal vouchers and any supporting documentation required.
• Generate weekly transaction reports and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum six CXC subjects, including Mathematics and English Language.
• LOMA Parts 1 and 2 or equivalent industry designation.
• At least two years of work experience, with one year in the operations division of a life‑insurance company.
• Strong human‑relations, time‑management, and customer‑service orientation.
• Working knowledge of insurance policies, basic accounting principles, and effective oral and written communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheet software.
• Proficiency with word‑processing applications.
