Field Credit Officer – Independent Contractor (Commission Based)

About the role

The Independent Field Loan Officer will work on a commission‑based, target‑driven basis to expand the loan portfolio of a reputable financial institution. This role involves active field marketing, prospecting, and relationship development across Kingston & St. Andrew. Candidates must be comfortable working independently in the field and meeting defined monthly performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect and generate new loan customers through field marketing, referrals, networking and direct sales.
• Achieve monthly loan disbursement and new‑business targets.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospective borrowers.
• Promote the company’s loan products to individuals, businesses and other eligible customers.
• Conduct initial assessments, assist applicants with documentation and perform field verification visits.
• Maintain regular contact with prospects and existing customers throughout the application process.
• Submit accurate and timely customer information and activity reports.
• Ensure all submissions comply with lending, documentation and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum of five CSEC subjects including Mathematics and English.
• Associate degree, diploma or related qualification in Business, Finance, Marketing or Sales (asset).
• At least two years’ experience in sales, lending, micro‑finance, banking or a similar target‑driven field.
• Strong sales, negotiation and relationship‑management abilities.
• Good numerical ability and basic understanding of credit and lending principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable motor vehicle.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to use digital systems for reporting and customer communication.
• Basic credit analysis and lending knowledge.
