Senior Human Resources Generalist

About the role

The Senior HR Generalist provides comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle, acting as a trusted partner to employees, people leaders, and business stakeholders. The role blends strategic insight with operational execution to enhance employee experience, ensure compliance with Jamaican labour legislation, and drive organizational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as HR business partner to assigned departments, advising on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation and workforce changes.
• Manage employee relations matters including attendance, performance issues, investigations, and disciplinary actions in line with Jamaican labour legislation.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and leaders on recruitment, onboarding, succession planning and employee engagement initiatives.
• Oversee HR operations such as promotions, transfers, salary adjustments, leave management and ensure accurate documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Jamaican labour laws, company policies and support HR audits and policy development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field; professional HR certification is a plus.
• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably as an HR Generalist or Business Partner, with solid knowledge of Jamaican labour legislation.
• Proven ability to advise managers on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation and employee engagement.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Jamaican labour law and HR compliance.
• Experience with HR operations, employee documentation, payroll coordination and benefits administration.
• Ability to conduct investigations, draft performance improvement plans and manage disciplinary processes.
