Vice President – Retail & SME Banking

About the role

Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a Vice President to lead the Caribbean‑wide Retail & SME strategy and growth agenda. Based in Kingston, you will shape the segment’s P&L, drive customer acquisition and deepen relationships across retail and small‑business channels.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute segment‑level plans for profit, revenue, and sales priorities.
• Drive sales performance for retail bankers, SME bankers, card sales/usage, and merchant acquiring.
• Lead client acquisition, retention, and cross‑sell initiatives through needs‑based advice and coordinated propositions.
• Build disciplined pipeline management for prospects, leads, banker productivity, merchant acquisition, and card adoption.
• Own sales conduct and client escalation discipline, ensuring responsible selling and appropriate issue handling.
• Manage and develop direct reports through coaching, performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
• Collaborate with Banking & Credit Operations to reduce account‑opening and documentation delays.
• Partner with Treasury, Cards & Digital Payments, and Corporate & Commercial Banking to align campaigns, pricing, digital adoption, and SME handoffs.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Business Administration or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
• 10–15 years of banking experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership managing retail and small‑business operations.
• Strong analytical, budgeting, strategic thinking, and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Proven human‑relations management experience, including coaching, grievance handling, and talent development.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheet and word‑processing software applications.
