Accounting Manager – Caribbean Operations

About the role

Excelerate Energy is seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function for its operations in Jamaica and across the Caribbean. The role will build and maintain a robust local and regional accounting and compliance framework while supporting the company’s growth in emerging markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accounting for Jamaica and other Caribbean entities, ensuring compliance with local statutes, IFRS and U.S. GAAP reporting packages, and internal controls.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, financial statement reviews and timely submission of reporting packages to corporate.
• Coordinate statutory financial statements, annual returns and external audits, acting as primary contact for local auditors, tax advisors and regulators.
• Oversee compliance with Caribbean tax obligations such as corporate income tax, GCT/VAT, payroll filings and statutory employer contributions (NIS, NHT, HEART).
• Maintain relationships with third‑party service providers, ensuring alignment with company policies and internal controls.
• Provide financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to support operations, commercial, treasury, tax and FP&A partners.
• Monitor compliance calendars, entity registrations and filing deadlines, coordinating any changes in business structure.

Required profile

• Hands‑on accounting professional with experience in Caribbean statutory requirements and international reporting standards.
• Proven ability to manage month‑end close, audits and tax compliance in a multi‑entity environment.
• Strong analytical skills to deliver clear financial analysis and decision support.
