Bank Teller – Liguanea (Contract)

About the role

The Branch Operations team at Sagicor Bank Jamaica is seeking a Contract Teller for its Liguanea location. You will provide professional, attentive service to clients while handling a wide range of core banking transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately process client deposits, withdrawals, and cash shipments.
• Handle RTGS/Wire Transfers, ACH, and foreign exchange transactions.
• Issue, encash, and dispatch drafts, manager’s cheques, and travellers’ cheques.
• Process credit‑card and bill payments, as well as non‑cash transactions such as fund transfers and fee reversals.
• Maintain vault and treasury duties, including cash verification, excess cash collection, and preparation for shipment to the Cash Processing Unit.
• Balance and image cheques for outward clearing, scan documents, and file processed work for verification.
• Assist in verification of negotiable instruments and ensure compliance with TTR/STR/UTR guidelines.
• Promote bank products and services, identify client needs, and refer clients to appropriate sales channels.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration or a related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Knowledge of teller functions and POCA regulations is an advantage.
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong time‑management skills.
• Professionalism, honesty, integrity, and effective communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
