Business Development Associate (Remote)

About the role

A management consulting and professional services firm is hiring a Business Development Associate to support the early stages of its sales pipeline, working alongside the Head of Business Development. The role focuses on research, prospecting, lead qualification and proposal support for global enterprise clients in complex B2B sales cycles. It is a full-time position, Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST, paid $10-$12 per hour, with a target start date of ASAP. Candidates must speak English at C1 level and submit an audio recording in English.

Key responsibilities

• Outbound prospecting: run targeted campaigns based on account plans, research target organizations and decision-makers, and nurture relationships via LinkedIn, email and other channels
• Sales pipeline management: qualify prospects, advance opportunities through early Salesforce stages (Nurture to Discover), keep CRM records current and report on outreach and meetings
• Meeting coordination: schedule discovery meetings, write detailed notes and turn them into presentation materials and pursuit documents, reviewed with the visual design team
• Support proposal development and account warming with the Content and Proposal Development teams

Required profile

• 3+ years in business development, sales development, account development, lead generation or a similar B2B sales role
• Personalized outbound prospecting, account research and lead qualification experience
• Excellent written and spoken English; preferred: experience in consulting, professional services, healthcare, biotechnology or pharmaceuticals
• Preferred: located in South Africa (Cape Town preferred) and experience working remotely with international teams
