Human Resources Business Partner

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League. Reporting to the Group Human Resource Development and Administration Manager, you will provide strategic and operational HR support to designated business units, driving employee engagement and organisational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Build partnerships with managers and employees to deliver value‑added HR services and people‑focused solutions.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding to secure high‑performing talent aligned with business objectives.
• Lead performance management processes, including identifying gaps, implementing development interventions, and monitoring Individual Development Plans.
• Assist with compensation reviews, job evaluations and benefits administration to ensure equity and market competitiveness.
• Oversee monthly payroll activities for assigned units, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and labour laws.
• Support industrial relations processes and contribute to HR policy development.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives to enhance communication, morale and overall employee experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
• At least five years of progressive experience in a similar HR role.
• Professional HR certification and coaching skills are advantageous.
• Strong business acumen and ability to influence at all organisational levels.

Required skills

• Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Experience with performance management, recruitment, compensation, benefits and payroll processes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
