Management Accounting Trainee

About the role

Join Couples Resorts as a Management Accounting Trainee and support the Finance Department across resort operations. This two‑year structured programme offers hands‑on experience in financial reporting, budgeting, cost analysis and internal controls within a hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and analysing management accounts, monthly reports and performance summaries.
• Support budget preparation, variance analysis, forecasting and cost monitoring.
• Prepare journal entries and perform general ledger reconciliations.
• Participate in accounts payable, receivable and cash‑management tasks.
• Maintain fixed‑asset, accrual and pre‑payment schedules.
• Collaborate with operational departments to ensure accurate guest‑related cost data.
• Review revenue, payroll, purchasing, inventory and operating cost data for accuracy.
• Use Excel and accounting systems to analyse data, identify trends and highlight exceptions.

Required profile

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, management studies or a related discipline.
• Completed Level II ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, reconciliations and financial statements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Confidence using financial systems or accounting software.
