Manager, Investment Management

About the role

Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited is looking for a Manager, Investment Management to manage and optimise client investment portfolios across multiple asset classes in line with investment objectives, risk parameters and regulatory requirements. The role covers strategy development, portfolio monitoring, client engagement and the growth of Assets Under Management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage investment portfolios for mutual funds, pension funds and investment management clients under approved policies and risk parameters.
• Develop and implement strategic and tactical asset allocation strategies and rebalance portfolios.
• Analyse regional and international opportunities across equities, fixed income, structured products, real estate, options and mutual funds.
• Assess suitability, risk and return, execute trades and seek optimal pricing.
• Monitor performance, asset mix, risk exposure and compliance with client IPS/SIPP and portfolio limits.
• Prepare performance reviews, strategy reports, governance reporting and client presentations.
• Support business development, including proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
• Maintain compliance with legislation, regulations and internal policies, and work with Risk on risk measurement and controls.

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science or a related discipline.
• CFA designation.
• Eligibility to be licensed as a Dealer Representative by the Financial Services Commission.
• At least 3 years managing investment portfolios for mutual funds, pension funds and/or institutional clients.
• Demonstrated experience in portfolio management, investment analysis, asset allocation and performance monitoring, within investment, pension and securities regulatory frameworks.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of local and international capital markets and investment products.
• Excellent knowledge of portfolio management processes, tools and techniques.
• Sound knowledge of pension plans, unit trusts and other pooled investment vehicles and their governing laws.
