Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Representative

About the role

This position covers occupational health, safety and environmental matters in storage, distribution and value-added services operations. It includes incident investigation, compliance monitoring, training coordination, audit management and the maintenance of EHS management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, carry out root cause analysis, implement corrective actions and keep the records.
• Monitor compliance with OHS and environmental legislation, corporate standards and customer requirements.
• Prepare, analyse and present EHS KPIs such as accident rates, safety observations, inspections, training and corrective action compliance.
• Coordinate training on OHS, safe handling of chemicals, emergency response and PPE, and run inductions for new employees, contractors and service providers.
• Implement procedures and controls for a safe work environment, and conduct periodic risk assessments and inspections.
• Coordinate ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, and manage internal, customer and external audits and their findings.
• Keep Safety Data Sheets up to date under GHS, verify safe chemical storage and coordinate spill and emergency responses.
• Manage PPE, emergency equipment and first aid supplies; monitor fire protection systems and evacuation routes.
• Manage sustainability programmes (EcoVadis, SMETA, waste management, recycling) and hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
• Lead continuous improvement in safety, environment, housekeeping (5S) and preventive culture, and investigate customer complaints on safety, health or environment.

Required profile

• Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering student or related field.
• Internal Auditor ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in similar roles (preferred).
• Experience in warehouses or logistics and with chemical products.

• Analytical skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office.
• Handling of hazardous materials and fire extinguishers.
