Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer is accountable to the Administrative Services Manager for managing and coordinating the JCCUL Group's procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services in line with approved procurement policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in procurement planning so it aligns with the organisation's objectives, operational needs and approved budget
• Help prepare and maintain annual budgets, procurement plans and implementation schedules
• Coordinate sourcing, tendering and supplier selection in line with approved policies
• Negotiate pricing, contractual terms and delivery schedules with suppliers
• Monitor inventory levels and usage trends to forecast procurement needs
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for reporting, audits and governance
• Manage supplier relationships and evaluate supplier performance
• Administer and monitor awarded contracts for compliance with terms, pricing, service levels and delivery schedules

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, or equivalent
• Training or certification in Contract Management, Negotiation, Project Management or Inventory Management
• Three years' experience in a similar position, preferably in a structured environment

Required skills

• Knowledge of procurement policies, regulatory and ethical frameworks and practices
• Sourcing, tendering, contract administration and supplier relationship management
• Inventory management, demand planning and supply chain principles
• Contract law, negotiation strategies and commercial risk management
• Market analysis, cost evaluation and value-for-money assessment
• Negotiation and stakeholder management; sound judgment and decision-making
