Project Officer (Maintenance Supervisor) - Montego Bay

About the role

Tourism Product Development Co. (TPDCo), a Government of Jamaica body, is advertising a tender for a Project Officer (Maintenance Supervisor) based in Montego Bay. Working under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager, the incumbent coordinates and reports on construction activities on site.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and prepare a daily report of work executed on site, comparing planned work with actual work.
• Capture and report site data, including the number of workers on site and materials delivered.
• Interpret specifications and drawings, capture details requiring site instructions and demarcate the scope of work on site.
• Notify the Project Manager of deviations in scope and ensure work meets the specification.
• Maintain the cleanliness and overall maintenance of the Resort Towns and report any issues.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with the contractor, architect, project manager and technical team.
• Conduct work professionally, respecting all rules and regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying or a related discipline.
• Five years' experience in construction site supervision, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
• Ownership of a reliable motor vehicle is required; extensive travel is expected.

Required skills

• Knowledge of project management, analysis and management.
• Knowledge of government procurement procedures and contract administration.
• Proficiency in computers and data-analysis applications.
• Excellent communication skills.
