Projects Officer - Montego Bay

About the role

Tourism Product Development Co. (TPDCo), a Government of Jamaica body, is recruiting a Projects Officer for Montego Bay. Working under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, the officer monitors, facilitates and acts as liaison for projects aimed at enhancing and developing tourism products.

Key responsibilities

• Identify potential projects leading to the development of tourism products.
• Liaise with project owners on behalf of TPDCo and with funding institutions on their behalf.
• Execute tasks arising from the facilitation process and assist with the preparation of business plans.
• Visit and monitor project sites and report to the Coordinator on time.
• Work with technical experts within TPDCo, including architects, quantity surveyors and product quality officers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Five years' experience in project management at a supervisory level, or three years of supervisory experience in construction management with an emphasis on project management.
• Ownership of a motor vehicle is required; the incumbent is expected to travel extensively.
• Equivalent combination of qualifications and experience may also be considered.

Required skills

• Knowledge of public sector regulations, the legislative framework for tourism investment and government procurement procedures and contract administration.
• Project management, analysis and management knowledge.
• Proficiency in computers and data analysis applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
