Project Support Officer - Volunteer Placement

About the role

Cuso International is offering a 6-month volunteer placement in Kingston, Jamaica, starting in December 2026, to support the Abilities Foundation of Jamaica (AF). The foundation empowers persons with disabilities through vocational education and life skills training. As a volunteer, you will help implement AF's programs, strengthen its internal operations and assist in program development, including resource mobilization.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Project Coordinator with project-related activities, such as managing external communications, preparing reports and presentations and carrying out agreed duties with staff.
• Help project team members develop grant proposals by researching grant opportunities and contacting prospective donors as approved by the team.
• Improve the Foundation's operational workflows, including human resources and management processes, by reviewing procedures and proposing a detailed implementation plan.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences.
• Open to Canadian citizens and Canadian permanent residents only.
• English level 4-advanced.
• Experience in organizational development and planning, working with groups, preferably community-based ones.

Required skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Teamwork abilities.
