Regional Lead - Caribbean and Bermuda

About the role

Medical Protection Society (MPS), a not-for-profit protection organisation for doctors, dentists and healthcare professionals, is seeking an experienced Regional Business Development Lead to shape and deliver its commercial strategy across the Caribbean and Bermuda. The role holds accountability for sustainable growth, retention and member satisfaction across individual members and corporate business, while keeping activity aligned with ethical trading, regulatory requirements and positive member outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the regional commercial strategy, aligned to global priorities and informed by local market insight.
• Drive income, member growth and retention, achieving agreed financial and volume targets across individual and corporate segments.
• Provide senior leadership across the region, building a high-performance culture and developing colleagues.
• Own and manage the regional financial plan, ensuring budget discipline, cost efficiency and return on investment.
• Build and maintain senior stakeholder and partner relationships, representing the organisation strategically.
• Act as regional subject-matter lead for the launch and delivery of products and services meeting local member needs.
• Ensure risk management, regulatory compliance, ethical trading, fraud prevention and governance across regional activity.

Required profile

• Significant experience in business development and sales leadership, ideally in financial services or insurance.
• Demonstrated success delivering growth and retention across B2B and B2C markets.
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities in complex environments.
• Excellent relationship management and credibility at senior stakeholder level; confident communicator and collaborator.
• Experience in a regulated environment, exposure to global or regional organisations, and understanding of healthcare or professional services markets in the Caribbean and/or Bermuda are desirable.
