Watersports Team Leader – Resort Operations

About the role

The Watersports Team Leader oversees the daily operation of the Watersports Department at Couples Resorts, ensuring safe, professional, and memorable experiences for guests. This role combines leadership, guest service, and operational management in a dynamic resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, motivate and schedule the Watersports team, conduct training, coaching and performance evaluations.
• Deliver personalized guest service, provide activity information, address concerns and promote participation in watersports programs.
• Coordinate daily watersports activities such as sailing, kayaking, paddle‑boarding, snorkeling, windsurfing and catamaran excursions, ensuring compliance with local maritime regulations.
• Monitor weather and sea conditions, maintain activity logs and make operational decisions accordingly.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental regulations, conduct equipment inspections, manage lifesaving gear and lead emergency response when needed.
• Maintain and repair watersports equipment, manage inventory of supplies and safety gear, and report deficiencies.
• Prepare operational and incident reports and assist with departmental budgeting and cost control.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising a watersports or similar recreational team.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards, maritime regulations and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to schedule staff, conduct training and evaluate performance.
• Excellent guest‑service orientation and problem‑resolution skills.
• Capability to monitor weather/sea conditions and make operational decisions.
• Experience preparing reports and supporting budgeting activities.
