Vice President, Credit Risk – Caribbean

About the role

Sagicor Group Caribbean is seeking a Vice President to provide independent second‑line oversight of credit risk across its lending, investment, counterparty and related exposure activities in the Caribbean region.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee independent second‑line credit risk across all Sagicor Group Caribbean jurisdictions, subsidiaries and material credit‑exposed activities.
• Challenge credit decisions, portfolio management, concentrations, impairments and collateral practices against the approved risk appetite and authorities.
• Implement and maintain credit risk policies, standards, methodologies, limits and escalation protocols in line with group and local regulatory requirements.
• Monitor portfolio quality, delinquencies, impairments, watch‑list trends and concentration pressures, and report material breaches to senior governance forums.
• Support enterprise‑wide stress testing and conduct targeted credit sensitivity analyses to translate analytics into actionable risk recommendations.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business, Risk Management or related field; advanced degree or professional designation preferred.
• 12+ years of credit risk, lending, investment risk or portfolio management experience, including significant second‑line or independent oversight responsibilities.
• Deep knowledge of credit underwriting, risk rating, portfolio analytics, collateral, impairments, concentrations, sensitivity analysis and stress‑testing support.
• Experience applying credit risk frameworks, appetite measures and governance across multiple jurisdictions or business lines.
• Strong analytical judgement, executive communication skills, independence, integrity and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
