Box Truck Driver

About the role

A Box Truck Driver safely operates a box truck to transport and deliver goods to customers, businesses and designated locations. Deliveries may go inside customers' homes, from front-door drops to white-glove service with room of choice and product assembly. The shift runs Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, and the pay is $25.25 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate a box truck on assigned local and regional routes.
• Pick up and deliver products, packages, equipment or materials according to routes and schedules.
• Load, unload and secure cargo to prevent shifting, loss or damage; assist with warehouse, material-handling or loading duties when required.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, receipts and inspection documents.
• Verify orders, freight condition and delivery quantities before completing deliveries.
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, warehouse personnel and leadership about deliveries, delays, route changes and vehicle issues.
• Keep the vehicle and work area clean and organised, and follow traffic laws, DOT regulations, company policies and customer-site requirements.

Required profile

• Valid REAL ID driver's licence and acceptable driving record.
• Previous box truck, delivery or commercial driving experience preferred.
• Ability to speak, read and write in English and pass federal background checks for access to military and government facilities.
• Physical ability to enter and exit the vehicle frequently and to lift and move products up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules when required.

• Basic hand tool usage and assembly skills.
• Reading maps, using navigation tools and maintaining geographic awareness.
• Accurate completion of delivery documentation and operational records.
• Strong customer service, communication and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
