Director of Engineering – Luxury Resort

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead the engineering operations of a prestigious luxury all‑inclusive resort in Jamaica. This senior leadership position requires a strategic mindset, strong technical expertise, and the ability to manage high‑performing teams in a sophisticated hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all engineering and facilities management functions for a resort with nearly 550 rooms.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure guest safety and comfort.
• Lead pre‑opening projects, including equipment installation, system testing, and staff training.
• Manage budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships to optimize operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with senior hotel leadership to align engineering initiatives with overall resort strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Director of Engineering in a luxury or ultra‑luxury hotel or resort.
• Proven experience in pre‑opening environments is highly desirable.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation abilities.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
