Industrial Relations Investigator (Part-Time)

About the role

Centerfield, a digital marketing solutions provider based in Jamaica, is looking for a part-time Industrial Relations Investigator for a 6 to 12 month contract. You will coordinate the Industrial Relations Program for staff, promoting good labor practices and harmonious relations between management, workers and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and manage disciplinary matters escalated to the Human Resources Department, including conducting investigatory interviews and writing investigation reports for disciplinary hearings.
• Represent the company during disciplinary matters as required.
• Help identify and proactively resolve issues within the company.
• Investigate and manage grievance reports and cases, monitoring the HR grievance distribution day to day so issues are handled in a timely manner.
• Attend meetings and workshops as required.
• Develop and implement ideas that improve disciplinary and investigatory processes, and identify gaps in the disciplinary management process to escalate to the HR Manager and Business Partner.
• Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• BSc in Human Resources Management or its equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an HRM/IR capacity.
• Specialized training in industrial relations is ideal.
• Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of staff orders and good knowledge of labor laws and industrial relations practices.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, conflict management, presentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to conduct investigations, write reports, analyze problems and prioritize tasks.
• Integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, independence and teamwork.
