People Officer

About the role

Digita Global Marketing Ltd. (DGM), a full-service creative, advertising and marketing agency based in Kingston, Jamaica, is recruiting a People Officer. The role supports managers and supervisors in administering human resource policy and covers recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee records. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and assist managers and supervisors in interpreting and administering human resource policy.
• Administer recruitment activities, including employee orientation and documentation.
• Process new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, leaves of absence and existing cases.
• Carry out job descriptions, job postings, promotion and hiring analytics.
• Assist in managing onboarding plans and planning staff training programs.
• Support performance management, employee evaluation and follow-up on related activities.
• Maintain employee digital records and support staff engagement activities and initiatives.
• Adhere to laws and regulations as set out by the local Ministry of Labour & Social Security.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business or a related field; additional HR education and certification is a plus.
• Project management certification would be beneficial.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the relevant industrial environment.
• Track record of working in a highly target-driven environment with the ability to plan and manage their own work schedule.
