Audit Associate

About the role

HLB Mair Russell is seeking an Audit Associate to join its dynamic audit and assurance team. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior staff to execute audit engagements in line with firm and professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform substantive audit procedures on income statements and balance sheets.
• Obtain sufficient and appropriate audit evidence and document findings.
• Test controls, perform walkthroughs and identify audit differences.
• Prepare financial statements and disclosures in compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and explanations to junior team members.
• Maintain professional client relationships while observing independence considerations.

Required profile

• First degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field from a recognized university.
• 1–2 years of basic audit experience.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and deliver high‑quality work.
• Strong client service and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
