Bank Teller – Up Park Camp (Contract)

About the role

The Teller will work in the Up Park Camp branch of Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited, delivering professional and attentive service to clients. You will be responsible for accurately completing core banking transactions and ensuring a superior client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional service and resolve client issues promptly.
• Identify client needs and refer them to appropriate sales channels.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of all bank products and cross‑sell to existing clients.
• Verify and process client deposits, including Main Line and Quick Deposit Box.
• Market and promote bank products to obtain referrals.
• Purchase, remit, and manage excess or unfit cash.
• Process RTGS, wire transfers, ACH, and foreign‑exchange transactions.
• Issue and encash drafts, manager’s cheques, and travellers’ cheques.
• Handle credit‑card and bill payments, as well as non‑cash transactions such as fund transfers and fee reversals.
• Perform custodial duties for vault, treasury, and ABM.
• Receive, verify, and prepare cash for shipment to the Cash Processing Unit.
• Collect excess cash from tellers and balance/ image cheques for clearing.
• Image/scan processed documents and clear transactions to appropriate accounts.
• File processed work, dispatch cheques and drafts, and assist in instrument verification.
• Complete all required TTRs, STRs, and UTRs in line with guidelines.
• Undertake other job‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Knowledge of teller functions and POCA regulations (advantage).
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong time‑management skills.
• Professionalism, honesty, and integrity when dealing with clients.
• Effective communication and problem‑solving abilities.
